Spidle Hall at Auburn University Is Coming Down — What Relocating Faculty Should Know
They’re tearing down Spidle Hall—home of Auburn University’s College of Human Sciences—to make room for something brand new.
For many of us, this building holds memories: classes we took, professors we admired, quiet walks between lectures under those old trees. And for me personally? I always enjoyed the beautiful flowers they showcased each season. It truly made my day to see them. Hopefully, the new building will bring back that same burst of color and joy.
But Auburn is growing. Fast.
If you’re joining Auburn’s Human Sciences faculty, relocating for a support position, or just want to live close to campus in a walkable neighborhood—this change is something to pay attention to.
🧠 Pro tip: Homes near Auburn University go fast. Walkable neighborhoods like Cary Woods, Shelton Woods, and Summerlin are always in high demand—especially among university employees and alumni who want to stay close to the action but enjoy a little peace and quiet after work.
If you’re relocating to work with Auburn’s College of Human Sciences (or any AU department), I’d love to help you find a home that fits your lifestyle. I’m Laura Sellers, an Auburn alum and full-time REALTOR®—and I walk these streets (literally) every day.
Whether you’re moving across the country or just across town, let’s make sure your next chapter feels like home.
