Ann Pearson Park Grand Opening in Auburn, Alabama
On August 25, 2025, the City of Auburn celebrated the grand opening of Ann Pearson Park, a beautiful new 46.9-acre community park located at 1420 Shelton Mill Road. This vibrant event welcomed families, local leaders, and residents to explore Auburn’s newest outdoor gem, marking a milestone in the city’s commitment to public green spaces.
The park came to life through the thoughtful generosity of Dr. Ann Pearson, who donated the land to create a lasting community resource. The grand opening drew the Auburn community together, offering a first glimpse of this tranquil setting and its many amenities.
Park features include:
-
2.5 miles of shaded trails, gently winding through wooded areas and leading to a serene creek
-
A modern playground with turf surfacing and playful climbing structures
-
A covered pavilion with restrooms and an AED station included for safety and convenience
-
Spacious open meadows ideal for casual play and gathering
-
A lush fern valley and wildflower meadow that enhance the natural beauty
-
A natural creek, flowing through the park’s heart and adding to the peaceful ambiance
Ann Pearson Park is now open daily from sunrise to sunset, inviting Auburn residents and visitors to enjoy recreation, relaxation, and community connection.
This park’s realization was supported in part by the philanthropic efforts of Walt and Ginger Woltosz, whose longstanding generosity to Auburn University and the surrounding community has helped make vibrant public spaces like this possible. Their contributions on behalf of Auburn strengthen the town–university relationship and enhance community well-being.
