Some agents treat real estate like a 9-to-5 job, only working Monday through Friday and not responding to inquiries after hours or on weekends. But here’s the thing—many potential buyers search for homes in the evenings and on weekends when they’re off work. If your agent isn’t available to respond, you could be missing out on serious buyers.
A delayed response—or worse, no response—could mean the difference between selling your home quickly and it sitting on the market for months. Do you think it’s acceptable for an agent to take 2 to 3 days or longer to respond to questions or requests to show your property? I certainly don’t!
Some agents rely on automated systems to handle communication, but in my opinion, there’s no substitute for a personal response. I take selling your home seriously and pride myself on responding to inquiries the same day—usually right away unless I’m in a meeting, in which case I get back to you as soon as possible. Before you hire an agent, make sure their hours align with your needs. Ask how and when they will communicate with you and potential buyers. You deserve an agent who is responsive, reliable, and proactive.
