Did you know real estate commission rules have changed? Here’s what every buyer needs to know before starting their home search!
Navigating the real estate market can be tricky, especially with recent changes in commission rules. But don’t worry—I’m here to help you understand what’s new and why it matters.
- Still Need a Buyer’s Agent: Even with the changes, having a buyer’s agent on your side is crucial. An experienced agent (like me!) provides valuable insights, negotiates on your behalf, and helps you avoid costly mistakes.
- Signing Agreements Before Tours: Starting August 17, 2024, buyers will need to sign a representation agreement before touring homes. This agreement formalizes the partnership and ensures your interests are protected every step of the way.
- Commission Agreements in Writing: You’ll also be asked to agree on commissions in writing. Just like before, these commissions are negotiable, so don’t hesitate to discuss terms with your agent to find an arrangement that works for you.
As one of the best realtors in the area, I make it my mission to guide my clients through these changes smoothly and effectively. Whether you’re buying or selling, let’s work together to achieve your real estate goals with confidence.
