I’m taking the ugly win.
A thriller can be exciting. The lead changes hands. The stadium is rocking. Every possession matters. The game comes down to the final seconds.
But if Auburn loses at the end of it?
Give me the ugly win and let’s talk about what needs fixing tomorrow.

An exciting, back-and-forth football game that comes down to the final seconds—but Auburn loses?

I want the win.
It may not be pretty.
There may be plenty for coaches and players to work on the following week.
And Auburn fans will certainly have plenty to say about it.
But a win is still a win.
That is part of the fun of college football. We can all watch the same game and come away with completely different opinions about what happened.
And in Auburn, those conversations continue long after everyone leaves Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Auburn Football Is Part of Living Here
One thing relocation buyers sometimes do not fully understand until they spend time here is how closely Auburn University and the City of Auburn are connected.

I have lived in the Auburn–Opelika area since 1988, and Auburn has changed tremendously during that time.
Yet football Saturdays remain one of those unmistakable parts of living here.
What Auburn Looks Like on Game Day
If you are relocating to Auburn, it helps to understand that a home football Saturday is not an ordinary Saturday.
Depending on where you live and where you are going, you may notice:
• Heavier traffic hours before kickoff
• Changes to normal driving patterns near campus
• Busy restaurants and stores
• Tailgating throughout the university area
• More people walking toward campus
• A much busier Downtown Auburn
• Postgame traffic after thousands of fans leave at once
Then there are the Auburn traditions.
Tiger Walk.
Tailgating.
Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Downtown Auburn.
And, after certain wins, Toomer’s Corner.
Those things are part of the Auburn experience, even for residents who never set foot inside the stadium on a particular Saturday.
What Does Football Have to Do With Auburn Real Estate?
More than you might think.
When someone contacts me about moving to Auburn, Alabama, I want to know more than the number of bedrooms and bathrooms they need.
I want to know how they plan to live here.
For example:
• Do you want to be close to Auburn University?
• Is walking to campus important?
• Would you love being around the game-day atmosphere?
• Would you prefer some distance from football crowds and traffic?
• Is this going to be your full-time residence?
• Are you primarily looking for an Auburn game-day property?
• Do you want a condo, townhome, or single-family home?
Those answers can change the direction of a property search considerably.
A buyer searching for a game-day condo may place tremendous value on campus proximity.
Someone purchasing a full-time home may decide that other priorities matter more.
