Auburn Football Homecoming 2025: Sellout Streak, Auburn Family, and a 31–15 Win
Auburn Football Homecoming 2025 was one for the history books. On Saturday, 88,043 fans filled Jordan-Hare Stadium, tying the program record with 17 consecutive sellouts. The Auburn Family created the home-field advantage that has made the Plains famous, and the Tigers delivered a 31–15 victory over South Alabama.
Auburn Head Coach Hugh Freeze praised the atmosphere:
“It is a really good home-field advantage, and we’re going to need that moving forward, starting this Saturday. We’re very thankful that we get to play in front of such good fans, our student section and everybody that makes it so difficult to play here.”
Game Highlights
The Tigers gave the Homecoming crowd plenty to cheer about.
-
Jackson Arnold accounted for three touchdowns.
-
Jeremiah Cobb rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown, his second consecutive 100-yard performance.
-
Auburn’s defense forced two turnovers to keep South Alabama in check.
The tone was set from the opening drive when Auburn went for it on fourth-and-5. Arnold found Eric Singleton Jr. for a clutch first down, then hit Cam Coleman for a 32-yard touchdown on the next play. From that moment, Jordan-Hare Stadium shook with excitement.
The Auburn Eagle Flight
No Auburn game day is complete without the eagle flight. The entire stadium rose to its feet, chanting “War Eagle!” as the eagle circled Jordan-Hare before landing at midfield. This tradition, rooted in Auburn’s early-1900s lore, symbolizes the spirit and pride of Auburn University and sets the tone for everything that follows.
Flyover Tradition
Before kickoff, fans turned their eyes to the sky for the flyover. The roar of the aircraft above Jordan-Hare Stadium always stirs emotion and pride. Combined with the packed stands and the sea of orange and blue, it created a breathtaking moment that reminded everyone why game day on the Plains is unlike anywhere else.
Tiger Walk: A Sea of Orange and Blue
The Tiger Walk is one of Auburn’s most famous traditions, where thousands of fans line Donahue Drive to cheer as the team walks to the stadium. Born in the 1960s and now one of the most iconic entrances in college football, Tiger Walk was electric for Homecoming, and the players clearly fed off that energy heading into the game.
Band and Cheerleaders Bring the Spirit
The Auburn University Marching Band and cheerleaders kept the energy high from start to finish. Fight songs, cheers, and the halftime performance carried the crowd from pregame to the final whistle, making Jordan-Hare feel alive.
Floats and Homecoming Traditions
Homecoming weekend also brings out the creativity of Auburn students with Homecoming floats. Built by student organizations, these colorful displays lined the streets and added to the festive atmosphere—another reminder of the deep connection between Auburn’s students, alumni, and community.
Auburn Family Perspective
From the eagle flight to the band, from floats to fireworks in the stands, Homecoming is more than just a game—it’s a celebration of everything Auburn stands for. My perspective from inside the stadium and around campus captured those unforgettable moments. Being surrounded by the Auburn Family made this Homecoming feel like a true reunion on the Plains.
