Citizens’ Academy with the City of Auburn, AL Session 5 – Community, Growth & Gratitude
Session 5 of Auburn’s Citizens’ Academy was another unforgettable experience—and I’m so thankful I got to be part of it.
We kicked off the day at the Auburn Center for Developing Industries, where we learned all about Economic Development in our growing city. After that, we made our way to the Boykin Community Center for an eye-opening session with Community Services. I’ve lived in Auburn since 1988, and I still learned things I never knew!
Every stop on our tour was packed with valuable information—and even sweet surprises. At one of the locations, we were given a box of M&M Minis, which made the day even more fun and memorable. 🍬
Every speaker brought passion and insight to their presentation, and every tour gave us a deeper understanding of how Auburn runs behind the scenes. I truly appreciate all the hard work that went into planning this session. A huge thank-you to Allison Blankenship, who coordinated everything with such thoughtfulness. Every detail was covered, and the day ran incredibly smoothly.
Getting to ride the bus with fellow participants, learn more about the city I call home, and connect with local leaders reminded me of why I love living here. Auburn isn’t just a great place to work and live—it’s a place where people care, and it shows in everything from economic development to community outreach.
