Real Estate Ick: The Quirks That Drive Agents Crazy
Let’s be real — even the most well-meaning home buyers can sometimes test a realtor’s patience. No judgment… okay, maybe just a little. After years in the field, here are a few of my top real estate ‘icks’ — and if you recognize yourself in any of these, just know your agent probably still likes you… but also maybe needed a deep sigh and a snack after your last showing.
• The Ghoster – They’re texting non-stop, asking great questions, and excited about homes… until you mention pre-approval. Poof. Vanished like a dream after hitting snooze.
• The Tire Kicker – Claims to be “just looking,” but suddenly wants to tour every home in a 50-mile radius — and then wants to see them all again. And again.
• The Unrealistic Dreamer – Says they live for natural light, but complains that “this house has too many windows.” Pick a lane, friend.
• The Serial Zillow Addict – Wakes up at 5 AM to send you a dozen listings that are either already under contract, 3 hours away, or sold in 2022.
• The ‘No Lowballs’ Guy – He’s “serious” about buying and “doesn’t want to offend anyone,” but also thinks offering half the list price is just good negotiation.
